Join the Promethean movement |
Everything you do on your own to advance your life or the lives of those around you advances the Promethean mission. But to accomplish as much as possible, especially to do what has not yet been done and found a Promethean society, requires cooperation, mutual support and a deliberate consciousness of mission. To facilitate these things we are building the Promethean movement, and we have much work to do. The Promethean movement is just beginning. The most important work will be done in these early days. Acquiring the resources with which to change the world, or sustain the movement, is important (see this page to help support this site). But it is also important to begin with the right people. As well as resources, we need the assistance of talented and dedicated people with a wide variety of skills and abilities, with a range of mindsets and backgrounds. If you have the initiative and ability to make a contribution to our work, you can be a part of our movement — you can be instrumental in transforming the world. How can you help? That depends on you. My own life work has emphasized the project of developing the philosophy of Prometheanism as a firm foundation of ideas for the movement's future. This is important, but there are a great many other projects we can pursue to achieve our goals. For example, we want to increase awareness of this movement and grow it. One long-term project which requires assistance is establishing Promethean organizations on university campuses. Another is expressing Promethean messages in many persuasive media, such as film, printed books, radio, and every medium of creative art. It is critical to have people who can communicate well, all over the world, personally or through indirect means — for example individuals enthusiastic about networking and spreading ideas. There are many productive approaches we have conceived of but lack the ability to pursue, and I am sure there are many important ones we haven't yet imagined. I know that a diversity of perspectives will discover even more ways of changing the world. I also know that only diversity of ability can accomplish what must be done. Working together, we can and will succeed. Those who believe in the cause of life can accept no other option. I believe that furthering and improving life, including my own, is the most important and profound focus my life can have. If you have read through Promethea and you find that you believe the same of your own life, join me in that distinctly Promethean mission. Join the Promethean movement. The Promethean movement is composed of Prometheans, other members, and informal supporters. (To learn more about organization and membership visit the FAQs page.) Therefore there are three ways to participate: 1) Seek recognition as a Promethean — a dedicated leader, a core member among the members of the movement who puts the Promethean mission first in his or her life, taking initiative and responsibility for achieving Promethean goals, and representing the ideals of Prometheanism in personal conduct.
2) or become a member of the Promethean movement — a contributor to the movement who identifies himself or herself as a part of it.
3) or become an informal supporter of the Promethean movement.
NB: those wishing to become members should use the Join page at Prometheanmovement.org, while members who also interested as prospective Prometheans should begin by joining as members there, and then get in touch here. Whatever kind of commitment you are ready to accept at this time, we would be pleased and grateful to have your assistance. Even if you are not yet sure if you can help, contact us; we welcome those who want to grow into a Promethean role in the future. Also be sure to subscribe to the PrometheanMovement list and sign up at the Promethean Movement Forum to stay in touch with continuing information on how you can help. And of course, visit Prometheanmovement.org directly. — Phoenix |
